So you say that your happy eh? The good folks at Léger and Léger want to know how happy YOU are.
Their Léger and Léger poll want you to answer their questions.
Their "happiness" index is based upon a questionnaire that calculates your happiness level, and then in comparison to others in the province. They say that rate their happiness in general life on average at 74.2 out of 100.
We were scored a rough 73 calculated via the poll. What about you?
They say that "Many philosophers, intellectuals and researchers have come out on the question of happiness, and the only conclusion that everyone agrees on is that happiness is a subjective and relative notion.Since the 1960s, happiness research has been conducted in a wide variety of scientific disciplines, including gerontology, social psychology, clinical and medical research and happiness economics."
Of course, 'Happiness' is the subject of debate on usage and meaning, and on possible differences in understanding by culture. Sonja Lyubomirsky who is is an American professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of California, Riverside and author of the bestseller The How of Happiness: A Scientific Approach to Getting the Life You Want, has described happiness as “the experience of joy, contentment, or positive well-being, combined with a sense that one's life is good, meaningful, and worthwhile.”
Happiness is used in the context of mental or emotional states, including positive or pleasant emotions ranging from contentment to intense joy. It is also used in the context of life satisfaction, subjective well-being, eudaimonia, flourishing and well-being.
